Malala Yousafzai has become a global symbol for girls’ education and rights. Her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, has been championing education for girls and boys in Pakistan for years, making it clear that there are two heroes in their family. During his visit to Toronto, he joined Plan Canada in raising awareness about gender equality and visited Secord Elementary School, where students shared with him how his daughter, Malala, has become their inspiration.
